Covid-19 Policies and Procedures

As of the start of Term 3, we will be open for tutoring.

  • If you are able to do tutoring online (using Zoom) we will provide your lessons online at your normal scheduled time.
  • If you are unable to do tutoring online and are comfortable coming in person, we will be open for face to face tutoring at our Lakedge location.
  • If you are unable to do tutoring online and are not comfortable coming in person, get in touch right away if you would like to arrange to save your spot.

We are a COVID Safe business and we will be complying with all regulations, so if you will be coming in person you will be required to check in using the Service NSW QR code when you arrive, masks will be required while inside the premises, and you should make sure to sanitize your hands when you arrive and leave (sanitizer is provided). We will also be sanitizing the tutoring areas after each student. Please note and comply with the capacity limits posted as we are following the 4-square-metre rule.

NOTE – If you are attending in person, you will be required to follow these procedures:

  • Check in with our QR code when you arrive. We must verify you have checked in, so be prepared to show us that you are checked in on your phone. Parents who drop off will need to hang around until the start of the lesson so we can check this. (You are welcome to show us through the front doors.)
  • We encourage parents to drop off, wait outside or in their car if possible to limit the number of people on the premises.
  • Masks are required for children 12 and older (and encouraged for those under 12).
  • Sanitize your hands before your lesson starts. You may use our provided sanitizer.
  • Do not attend in person if the student is sick, is awaiting a COVID-19 test, has been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or is otherwise required to self-isolate. In this case we can arrange for the lesson to take place online.

When the lockdown is lifted or if restrictions change, we will make adjustments to our policies if necessary and let you know about any changes. Just let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and whether you’ll be attending online or in person.

Payment and Attendance Policy

Please familiarise yourself with the Payment, Attendance, and Cancellation Policy below. All clients must sign an agreement reflecting the appropriate policy and will be given a copy for their records.

For Weekly and Biweekly Students

  1. As you (the client) have scheduled a regular, ongoing, weekly or biweekly appointment, the scheduled appointment time must be paid for at the agreed upon rate, whether it is attended or not. If an appointment is not paid for in full within one week of the scheduled day and time, you forfeit your reservation of that day and time on a weekly or biweekly basis, and I (the principal) reserve the right to give the appointment day and time to another client or rescind the availability of that day and time. The following exceptions apply:
    1. With a minimum of 24-hour notice, you may cancel up to one appointment without payment or penalty per student per New South Wales (NSW) school term. See https://www.nsw.gov.au/about-new-south-wales/school-term-dates/ for school term dates. This includes the first and last weeks of the school term, as well as the first Saturday after the last date of the school term but does not include the first week of Term 1 or the last week of Term 4. If the student’s school starts later or ends earlier than the NSW school term, this does not constitute an exception to this policy.
    2. With a minimum of 24-hour notice, you may reschedule your appointment to another day and time within 7 days of the original appointment, provided a suitable day and time is available. While this may be done any number of times during the New South Wales school term, available days and times for rescheduled appointments are at the discretion of myself (the principal), and a suitable day and time may not be available. If no suitable day and time is available, then the above policy still applies.
    3. I (the principal) reserve the right to make an exception to this policy for emergency or exceptional circumstances. Such exceptions are solely up to my discretion.
  2. If you (the client) will need to take a leave of absence and miss more than one consecutive weekly or biweekly appointment and wish to reserve the appointment day and time, notice must be given one week in advance, and a deposit of $5 per half hour for each missed appointment must be paid in advance. Otherwise, Part I of this policy will apply. Payment of the deposit must be made in full before the leave of absence takes place. If the appointment immediately following your leave of absence is not paid in full within one week, whether attended or not, Part I of this policy will apply. If your leave of absence will be longer than the reserved lessons paid for according to this policy, notify me (the principal) right away to arrange payment to extend your reservation.
  3. Exceptions to the above statements are as follows:
    1. Parts I and II do not apply to the NSW school holiday periods.
    2. Parts I and II do not apply to appointments cancelled by me (the principal). Such cancellations do not need to be paid for, and a reasonable effort will be made to schedule another day and time within 7 days of the original appointment, if so desired by you (the client).
    3. Parts I and II do not apply to New South Wales public holidays. For a list of public holidays, see http://www.industrialrelations.nsw.gov.au/oirwww/NSW_public_holidays/NSW_Public_Holidays.page
  4. You (the client) understand that in the event that your regular assigned tutor is unable to attend your appointment, I (the principal) will assign a substitute tutor, if feasible and appropriate. If I am not able to do so, I will make a reasonable effort to reschedule your appointment to a different day and time. If a suitable day and time is not able to be scheduled, the appointment will be considered cancelled for that week, and, according to Part III, payment will not be required.
  5. If you (the client) schedule an appointment during the school holiday period, payment must be made if attended or in the event that you cancel or reschedule the appointment with less than 24-hour notice.
  6. This policy may change at any time with written notice given to you (the client) within 7 days of the changes.

For Casual Students

  1. In the event that you (the client) schedule an appointment with me (the principal), your scheduled appointment time must be paid for, in full, within one week of the scheduled day and time, whether the appointment was attended or not. If an appointment is not paid for in full at the agreed upon rate within one week of the scheduled day and time, I (the principal) reserve the right to refuse further appointments and services to you. Only the following exceptions apply:
    1. With a minimum of 24-hour notice, you may cancel or reschedule your appointment to another day and time without penalty or payment.
    2. If the lesson was not attended, 24-hour notice was not given, and the lesson was longer than 1 hour, you will only be required to pay for 1 hour at the agreed upon rate.
    3. I (the principal) reserve the right to make an exception to this policy for emergency or exceptional circumstances. Such exceptions are solely up to my discretion.
  2. If you (the client) arrive to your scheduled appointment late, you must still pay for the length of the original appointment, and the ending time of the original appointment may not be extended.
  3. The above policies do not apply to appointments cancelled by me (the principal). Such cancellations do not need to be paid for, and a reasonable effort will be made to schedule another day and time within 7 days of the original appointment, if so desired by you (the client).
  4. This policy may change at any time with written notice given to you (the client) within 7 days of the changes.
